In 1990 he took a position as a patrol officer with the Dallas County Community College District. Nacho worked as a patrol officer and on the bicycle officer unit and promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Nacho remained there until he left law enforcement in 1993 and began his own business ventures.

Nacho is a licensed Texas Concealed Handgun License Instructor and also holds certifications with the National Rifle Association as an  Instructor as well as being a Life Member. He received his first Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor certification in 1985. In 1987 he received his FBI Advanced Firearms Instructor certification.
